 Industrial Engineers Job Responsibilities

Today we will discuss about Roles & Responsivities of a IE Manager's & Junior IE's. 

Roles &  Responsibilities are given below....

A. IE Manager's  Responsibilities:

1.  Pre-production activities follow up.

2. Ensure that similar styles or similar machine set up styles  are planned for sewing lines. (Example: 5pocket basic sewing line should provide 5 pocket basic not Denim Jacket)

3. Critical Operations Annalise's  .

4. Discuss with the technical concerns  and develop folders/attachment to simplify operations.

5. Discuss layout with production manager (PM), factory Manager(FM) and Junior IE for any changes foreseen and finalize operator allocation for every operation based on skill matrix

6. Ensure special machines are kept ready for stitch  in advance

7. Ensure change over is done on time and peak target is achieved along with COT team.

8. Review line plan, manpower and efficiency on daily basis to ensure target  efficiency is achieved

9. Responsible for providing training to team members on Method study, Time study, Motion Study and improve their skill.

10. Review Daily MIS reports & take necessary action.

B. Junior IE's  Responsibilities:

1. Be on time and do line balancing within first 15 minutes give right people in right operation in case of absenteeism along with PM.

2. Ensure first-two hour peak is achieved. Follow on critical operations for method study. Follow up on

3. Follow on critical operations for method study & take necessary action.

4. Follow up on hourly production & take necessary action.

5. Giving Operation Bulletin (OB) before line feeding & follow up  additional machine or process are using or not. 

6.  Skill matrix Updating regular basis.

7. Prepare daily MIS reports & discuss with team regarding achievement's , Plan & Variation

9. Prepare the COT (Changeover Time) checklist and maintain it.
