Department Wise Job Description in Garments Industry

 

GARMENT IINDUSTRY

 

         It’s like a total system where input some raw material and after required change it produces some products as an output with good productivity.

 

@ Main sections of a garment factory:

 

a)   Administration

b)   Human Resource (HR)

c)   Accounts

a)  Administration: Admin section is the part of a Factory as like a brain of a human body, which controls each function of its body. This section makes rules and regulations for their company and maintains those properly.

 

b)  Human Resource (HR): This department advertises for recruiting employee. After recruitment they find out the necessity of training for employee. They setup the salary structure of employees according to their quality. They also ensure the better working condition for workers.   

 

c)  Accounts: Accounts department maintains all employees’ salary & all kind of necessary expenses of the factory need.

 

d)  Store: This section store all kinds of fabric & accessories which are always used in factory.  

 

e)  Merchandising: This section is a vital section of Garments industry. Because this section makes a relation between company and buyers after all kinds of negotiation. They make an agreement with buyers and they go for production.

 

f)   Sample: After merchandising section negotiates with buyer, they send a sample body to this section. Then this section makes their sample as per buyer requirement & send to buyer for approval.

 

g)  Production:

1) Cutting-The cutting section receives fabrics from the store. After receiving fabrics they check fabric by fabric inspection m/c. The lay fabric on the table by spreader m/c & lay the marker paper on the fabric which comes from CAD section. After that they cut the fabrics by cutting m/c. Then they put number every part by numbering m/c.     

2) Sewing-This section gets input from cutting section. In this section huge number of operators sewing one garment part by part using various kinds of machines. After completing one garment they send that in to washing section.   

 

3) Washing- This section washes the produced garments as per the buyer requirement. They use different washing methods for different kind of styles.

 

4) Finishing-This section receives garments from washing section & trims all kinds of access thread from the garments. Then they finally check for any defect & packing the garments for shipment.

 

h)  Quality Control: This section maintains the acceptable quality level of one garment from top to bottom total production system. They check the right measurement of garments as per buyer order requirement in finishing section.

 

i)   Maintenance: This is the important section for production. This section is always ready for repair any kinds of machine break down. This also sets up the necessary m/c, folders, guides on the line feeding time 

 

j)   Time section: This section keeps all the records of in time & out time of all workers. They keep record of overtime working. They also maintain the employees’ attendance record.

 

k)  Industrial Engineering:  This section mainly looks after the production side. This is the section where work educated, energetic and trained officers whose observe everything on the floor. Normally Supervisors & Production Managers are busy with day to day production issues and they will never concentrate or spend time on productivity improvements, Industrial Engineers are work on it. Industrial Engineers jobs are Operation Bulletin making, Capacity Study, Production Study, Line lay out follow up, NPT Monitoring, Work Place Engineering, and Method Improvement etc.
